The older kids are back to school now and you are home with the littles trying to fill their days with toddler activities, but maybe you feel like you are running out of new activities to try.
Believe it or not, you don’t have to spend a ton of money on new toys and/or craft materials in order to keep your toddler entertained. There are actually quite a few activities you can do at home today with just the items around your house!
Here are some quick, easy, and cheap toddler activities you can do today that require minimal to no prep, and only a few household supplies.
1. Ice Painting
If your toddler is in their Frozen stage, this one is a must. All you need is ice and watercolor paints!
- Put some ice in a bucket or bowl.
- Get your watercolor paints and a cup of water, and let your toddler go to town painting the ice.
2. Sidewalk Watercolors
This one is the perfect outside activity and will keep your toddler busy (for a few minutes at least!). This is one you can also do this with your school aged children to practice their writing skills!
- Grab a muffin tin or bowls
- Put water in each section or bowl
- Add a drop off food coloring to each section of the tin or to each bowl
- Give your toddler a paintbrush and get to painting!
3. Make a Fort
It couldn’t get any easier than this! Kids love hiding and playing in forts. And everything you need is easily at your disposal.
- Grab some blankets and pillows
- Arrange chairs and/or your couch close together
- Spread the blankets over top
- Crawl inside and enjoy!
4. Coloring
Never underestimate the power of coloring! Coloring can be relaxing for both you and your child. So grab your favorite crayons, markers, or colored pencils and a couple of coloring books or blank paper, and get started!
These four activities offer minimal mess, can be done inside or outside, and will happily entertain your toddler. Best of all, they’re easy on your wallet!
