Ashley Brown

Ashley Brown’s favorite things are the sweetness of a pretty sundress, the pleasure of a sprinkled doughnut, and the delight of reading a good book. The day doesn’t start until she has had a cup of coffee and doesn’t end until she’s sang lullabies to her children (song list includes Christmas songs no matter the time of year, Appalachian church hymns, and old sorority songs). Ashley is new to the Midlands, hailing from Highlands, North Carolina. Ashley, her husband Grant (a Columbia native), and children, Evelyn and Edmond, reside in Irmo, South Carolina. Ashley and Grant are newlyweds and her children are gifts from her first marriage. Ashley currently works at a technology company in downtown Columbia, but in her past life she wrote commercials for a radio station as a copywriter. She attended Western Carolina University and received a Bachelor of Arts in English. While she was there, she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. Ashley loves to observe daily life whether it’s finding the inspiration in its hardships, the humor in its idiosyncrasies, or the adventures of motherhood and the blended family. She hopes that her blog contributions leave you feeling like you just had coffee with your very best friend.
