Columbia Mom Community Groups
One of our primary goals in creating Columbia Mom is to connect moms online, as well as offline. With over 130,000 residents and growing, this is our attempt to make the world feel smaller! Whether you’re a new mom, new to the city, or just want to meet new friends, our community groups are the perfect way to connect with moms in your area.

Aside from the community groups offered by Columbia Mom, there are lots of other amazing mom groups and playgroups in the Midlands. Find one that best meets your interests!
Autism Moms Columbia SC – This group is for Mothers that have kids on the Autism spectrum. This group is safe place for mothers to vent and share experiences and much needed info. Please feel free to add your friends that have children that live with Autism.
Babywearing in Columbia, SC – Babywearing in Columbia, SC has been serving Midlands Babywearers since 2009. We are Columbia’s oldest and largest babywearing education resource, and our goal is to spread the babywearing <3 in and around South Carolina’s capital city. This is, and will always be, a place to plan out group outings and talk about what we love! We welcome anyone who wants to meet fellow babywearers and learn about choosing and safely using all the different kinds of baby carriers.
Cayce/West Columbia Mom’s Connection – This group was created to connect moms living and working in the Cayce/West Columbia area.
Cola City Homeschool Group – Cola City Homeschoolers is an inclusive, collaborative network of resources and events for homeschoolers in the Greater Columbia Area (Cola for short) and surrounding areas of SC’s capital city.
Cola Mommy & Me Meet Up – Getting moms & their kids back out into the world, making friendships and exploring together at different museums, parks, etc.!
Columbia Moms in South Carolina – Moms in Columbia, South Carolina – Networking, Socializing, and overall Cocktailing.
Fort Jackson MOPS/MOMSnext – Here at MOPS, we gather and support moms. We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. If you are a mom with a child birth through kindergarten, we have a place for you! A MOPS meeting includes practical teaching through speakers, demonstrations and videos. Plus, there’s usually food… food you didn’t make! But more important, you’ll get to have honest conversations with other moms who understand the joys and frustrations of motherhood. MOPS Kids is a preschool-style experience your kiddos will love – complete with stories, songs and fun activities.
Free Mom Hugs South Carolina Chapter – Midlands – The Midlands group of Free Mom Hugs South Carolina attends events in Columbia, South Carolina, to offer hugs, support and resources to the LGBTQ+ community. Despite the group name*, we welcome all (kind and respectful!) huggers.
Holistic Moms of Columbia, SC – This is a group for all moms who are interested in raising their children in a more natural way, regardless of where you are in the journey. The goal of this group is to unite like minded mothers and provide a supportive and educational environment.
Homeschooling Mama’s of the Midlands – As mothers, we have a very important job that (can be) rewarding & a fulfilling job. As homeschool mothers we take on another dynamic! This group is a place where local South Carolina mothers can get together (virtually & in person) for play dates, advice, tips, & even venting.
Irmo-Harbison Moms Meet Up – A place for Irmo-Harbison Moms to meet up for playdates, girls night out, etc.
La Leche League of the South Carolina Midlands – Our Mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother. La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
Lake Carolina Mommies – This group has been created to help support & encourage each other. It is for moms in the Lake Carolina subdivision in SC and surrounding neighborhoods
Midlands Mom Chat & Chew – Midlands Moms Chat & Chew (MMCC) is a place for moms in the Columbia and surrounding areas to talk about anything, share recipes, vent, give advice, meet new moms, and more!!

Moms of Lexington SC and Surrounding Areas – Meet your local moms and build an awesome support group!! Share ideas, fun activities you do around the area and even vent! We are a friendly group that you can feel safe and comfortable in!
Moms of the Midlands – Moms of the Midlands, aka MOMS, is a group of moms with the goal of being the best moms we can be.
Naturally Minded Mamas of the Midlands – A place where like-minded moms meet to share in the journey of parenthood. This is a group where chatter happens (because where chatter happens, friendship grows).
NE Cola MOPS – MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) is a group for moms of littles, and ladies who are pregnant, to come together for faith, food, and fellowship. Momming is hard and this year we are focusing on GOING TOGETHER through life. Everyone needs friends, encouragement, and a little time to rest their arms.
The Busy Bees – A Parented Playgroup – The Busy Bees are a large collective of moms and a few dads throughout the Columbia area (Irmo, Chapin, Lexington, West Columbia, downtown, and the NE). Our goal is to help fellow parents find others they have things in common with and to form relationships for them and their children. This group is to help support mostly stay at home moms (and Dads!) with more options for “what to do” and “where to go” and “who can I talk into going with me!”
Social Moms of Chapin (and surrounding areas) – A place to make and meet friends in Chapin. A place to coordinate meet ups and begin life long friendships!
Young Moms of Lexington – This is a group for moms in Lexington and surrounding areas.
