Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution
You are invited to “Salute to 250 Day” at the State Museum! This special day offer FREE general admission for guests to mark the grand opening of our new major exhibition, American Battleground: South Carolina’s Revolution.
- Explore the new exhibition, American Battleground: South Carolina’s Revolution.
- Meet SCSM curators in the gallery and learn more about the stories, artifacts, and themes explored in the new exhibition.
- Hands-on activities inspired by historical creative practices | mini portraitures, traditional bookbinding with Jessica Ream, natural dye work with Christina Smith-Galloway, and junk journaling with The Spread.
- Meet local history and cultural organizations.
- Enjoy live music by Gallus Camerata featuring Revolutionary-era compositions.
- Discussion panel with museum experts and special guests.
- Debut of Revolutionary Astronomers, a new live planetarium show (Note: planetarium shows are $5).
- A full day of art, history and community!
Plus, food truck(s) will be on site for lunch and snacks!
