Birthday Party Planning Made Easy in Three Simple Steps!

Birthday Party Planning Made Easy in Three Simple Steps! Let’s face it, as fun as birthdays are, birthday parties have taken a whole new level over the years from playdates at McDonalds (who remembers the play gyms?) to modern day extravagant decor and over the top fun. So where is the happy medium? How can we plan a fun, manageable, and practical party?

1. Plan Ahead

First thing’s first, plan ahead! You know your child’s birthday, so pick a date around that time and stick to it. I suggest doing this at least a month ahead, although I like to give myself two months to reach out to vendors. You also need to take into consideration where you would like to have the party. If you are wanting to have a party outside of your home you need to check locations and dates ahead of time.

2. Choose a Theme

Once you have your date and location picked out, it’s time to pick a theme. What does your child like? Are they into a specific show or movie? Maybe your child likes a certain animal or dinosaur or even vehicles. The possibilities are endless! Need some ideas? Check out Pinterest. It can be your best friend when it comes to party planning. I like to let the child lead and then go from there.

3. Invitations and Treats

Location, date, theme, check! Now what? Invitations and goodies! There are so many ways to invite friends and family. Etsy.com is a great place for digital invitations. You can also opt to can create an e-card, Facebook event, or just text out an invite to match your theme.

Next, you need to think about what all you would like to have at your party. Bounce house? Games? Balloons? Pinata? Goody bags? Food? An easy go-to for food is pizza, but there are so many options. I have also found that combining these things can make a big difference when it comes to preparing. That’s why I reached out to My Bakery in Lexington and The Luxury Houzz Party. Both of these places make party planning much easier, and they’re local!

My Bakery is a bakery with multiple professional bakers that specialize in cakes, cupcakes, cheesecake, cookies, and more. There is truly something for everyone. My Bakery is a one stop shop for birthday parties and events. They can also help with gluten free and vegan pastries. I have yet to try something I don’t like here, it is all fantastic and locally made!

The Luxury Houzz Party is another favorite that has a variety of bounce houses to choose from with balloons! Just tell them know your theme and they’ll take it from there. They are so helpful and creative and exceeded my expectations for a bounce house. My favorite part is the set up and break down. Luxury Houzz Party will arrive before the party begins, set up the bounce house and balloons, and then picks everything up for you after the party is done. You don’t have to lift a finger! I highly recommend using them for any children’s event.

Regardless of how you choose to celebrate your little one, birthday’s are such a special and sweet time, not only for your child but for YOU to! So give yourself grace when planning and appreciate all that you have done for your little one since they were born. Plan ahead, pick the perfect theme, choose fantastic vendors, and have the best time celebrating!
