Columbia Mom EATS :: Creekside Restaurant

Lexington’s Old Mill, located near downtown Lexington at 711 E. Main Street, is home to many businesses – a yoga studio, boutiques, art studios, restaurants, a brewery, and most importantly to me, my chiropractor. Every time I showed up for my biweekly back-cracking, I noticed the parking lot for Creekside Restaurant was slammed. I was curious and decided to check it out the next time I had an appointment around a meal time.

This past week, I had a break in between dropping my daughter off at preschool and my chiropractic appointment. I decided to drive to the Old Mill and treat myself to breakfast at Creekside Restaurant.

Creekside is a diner-style restaurant. It’s very family-friendly and was fairly crowded for 9 a.m. on a Tuesday. I scanned the menu as I dialed into my daily conference call. It was full of stick-to-your-ribs type meals – meaty breakfast bowls, pancake/waffle/French toast plates, cheeseburgers, fried catfish, and a whole section devoted to Spam dishes.

I zeroed in on the breakfast items. The pancake/waffle/French toast plates come with your choice of bacon or sausage, and eggs cooked your way. I chose a waffle and added chocolate chips and peanut butter chips, for an extra charge. You can also add fruit if you like. I am currently four months pregnant and have a voracious appetite, so when the waitress brought my meal, I was not disappointed by the portion size.

This meal was as delicious as it was huge! I devoured everything on my plate and walked next door to lie on my full stomach for my back-cracking. I had no regrets.

Creekside is good old-fashioned country cookin’! The food is delicious and it’s a perfect place to take your family, or just enjoy a really good meal that tastes like your grandma cooked it.

Creekside Restaurant is located at 711 E Main St, Lexington.

It’s open for breakfast and lunch Monday – Saturday, 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
