One of my favorite activities to do in the spring is to visit the strawberry fields. What I love about Columbia is that we have multiple strawberry patches nearby.
My family recently went to Clinton Sease Farm to pick some delicious strawberries. You can visit Clinton Sease Farm all month long for their U-Pick or pre-picked baskets. You get to choose from a gallon basket for $18 or a two quart basket for $10. We choose the two quart basket for our two year old to carry. It was the perfect amount of berries!
U-Pick is available most days from 2 to 6 p.m. The farm also has Strawberry Pick and Play Days that include not just U-Pick but so much more! Visit the strawberry fields, go on a wagon ride, see farm animals and play on the playgrounds. These days are fun filled for the entire family with ice cream included too. Tickets are available here and are free for children under three. You won’t want to miss out!
Strawberry Picking Tips
- Be sure to wear clothes you are willing to get dirty and boots.
- Pack a hat and wear sunscreen for those South Carolina sunny days.
- Be sure to check out their Facebook page for updates on when they are open (subject to change with the weather!).
Want to know more about this local farm? Clinton Sease Farm is 20 acre family owned farm since 1940. The farm started out with various crops from sweet potatoes to greens and added more each year. Now they have new attractions every year. They not only have strawberries in the spring, but pumpkins in the fall, sunflowers in the summer, and more. They also host birthday parties, field trips, and other events throughout the year.
