If you love bagels and bagel sandwiches, you’ll want to check out Sully’s Steamers. Sully’s has had a location on Devine Street for quite a while, but they just opened up a second location in Lexington. Now, there’s a brand new spot in the Midlands to get those deliciously steamed bagel sandwiches!
I recently got a taste of what Sully’s Steamers of Lexington has to offer, and I am pumped to have a great kid-friendly restaurant option that is very reasonably priced. They have so many fun sandwiches categorized into three main sections: “Legendary,” “Classics,” and “Healthy(ish).”
I went to Sully’s with some of the Columbia Mom writers. One of us got a “Hello Newman,” (Gotta love Seinfeld!) which was a delectable classic consisting of pastrami, bacon, horseradish, onions, muenster cheese, sprouts, tomato, and mayo. I went for “The Pirate,” which was a healthy(ish) turkey, spinach cream cheese, banana peppers, provolone, lettuce, and tomato sandwich on our choice of bagel.
These scrumptious, warm and gooey bagel sandwiches are meant to be eaten with two hands so you may want to bring in your stroller for your lap baby.
They do have smaller bagel sandwiches for kids offering fun sandwiches like a PB&J, ham or turkey and cheese, and even a pizza bagel. And if you are a pickle fan, be sure to ask for one, and don’t be surprised when it’s about the size of your sandwich.
I can also vouch for the big chocolate chip cookies located at the front register. They are big enough to split. Or not. Because they are quite tasty.
The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was quick, and the food was yummy and affordable. We will be adding Sully’s Steamers to our family’s routine lunch outing for sure!
