School is out and free summer lunches are available in your community! Richland Library is hosting free summer break cafés at three locations until August 11.

Children and teens up to 18 can receive a free meal through August 11 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Monday-Friday at the following library locations:

  • Edgewood | 2101 Oak St., Columbia 29204
  • North Main | 5306 North Main St., Columbia 29203
  • St. Andrews | 2916 Broad River Rd., Columbia 29210

Summer Break Café meals are on-site, first come, first served, while supplies last. Our Sponsor is Francis Burns United Methodist Church, and the program is managed in South Carolina by the SC Department of Education (SCDE).

The Summer Break Café program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and provides free meals to children 18 and under from June to August. Summer Break Cafés are held at SCDE-approved sites such as parks, libraries, churches, and schools.

Children and teens can enjoy post-meal activities by participating in the library’s 2023 Summer Learning Challenge.
