The South Carolina State Museum is celebrating Spring Break from April 2 – 6 with 50% off general admission for kids aged 12 and under. Plus, guests can enjoy immersive experiences in the 4D theater and planetarium.
Now showing at the museum, Superpower Dogs is a unique planetarium experience that follows the amazing true story of the world’s most extraordinary dogs and the remarkable science behind their life-saving superpowers. Narrated by Chris Evans, guests will journey around the globe to meet remarkable dogs and their human partners who fight crime, protect endangered species and even save lives!
Guests of all ages are also invited to enjoy BBC Earth’s Shark: A 4D Experience, an immersive film that places guests in the middle of the action with stunning 3D and thrilling special effects. Showing daily in the museum’s 4D theater, this show explores the complex nature of some of the world’s most strange and mysterious shark species.
While visiting the State Museum this spring, guests are encouraged to explore four floors of engaging exhibitions which highlight South Carolina’s cultural history, scientific achievements, art and natural wonders. From seeing millions-year-old dinosaur fossils to observing distant stars and planets in the Boeing observatory, the museum’s permanent galleries provide numerous ways to inspire imagination and creativity. Guests are also invited to explore changing exhibitions such as The Story of Us: Sharing Out Past, Building Our Future; Apollo 16 & Beyond: South Carolina in Space and Make Some Noise; The Science of Sound.
General admission to the South Carolina State Museum is $13 for adults, $11 for Seniors, and kids aged 3-12 are regularly $10 ($5 with 50% off discount). Infants 2 and under are free. Planetarium and 4D theater show tickets are an additional charge. The museum is open Tues. – Sat. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sun. from 12 – 5 p.m. Please note: the State Museum will be closed on Easter Sunday, March 31.
