What I’m Looking Forward to as My Girls Grow Older

0

I have had at least one toddler at my house for the past five years. Five years! That’s a lot!

Toddlerhood is the age comprised between one and three years old. And while I love all the wittiness, the innocence, and the full-speed emotions, sometimes I start to yearn for the moment when all of my children are a bit older, so I can plan different activities with them. Specifically activities that do not involve running around, that last longer than ten minutes, and/or activities that require a little bit more patience and concentration on the kid’s end.

Don’t get me wrong, I love having toddlers! But sometimes I feel like I am ready to embark on a different journey with my children … like I’m ready to move on to the next stage with them. And other times I feel like I want to keep having a toddler at my house forever. Oh, motherhood!

Here are some of the activities I can’t wait to try with my girls as they get older.

  1. Going to a tea room and having afternoon tea. (Like at Laura’s Tea Room)
  2. Going to a paint party. I would love to take my girls somewhere like Painting with a Twist or Studio Cellar.
  3. Going to the movies without having to worry that much if my girls are going to be able to last for the whole movie in their seat.
  4. I would love to actually be able to have a complete deck of cards at my house that lasts longer than 30 minutes before somebody misplaces a card.
  5. I want to be able to sit with them to play board games for at least an hour.

While I wait for my girls to grow older, I am going to keep embracing my wild and loud toddler, and I am going to continue cherishing this moments. I know for a fact that someday I will miss this.

What are activities are you looking forward to doing with your children once they ar older?

Luz has been happily married for seven years and is a proud mom to three girls, four years and under. She is originally from Mexico but has lived in Tennessee, Texas, and South Carolina. South Carolina has been her family's home for almost two years (but they have been in Columbia only six months, so she is eager to explore all the city and its surroundings have to offer). So far, she has really enjoyed going to the Riverfront Park, picking strawberries at different farms, eating ice cream at Rosewood Dairy Bar, and going to events at the State Fairgrounds. She is a stay-at-home mom, avid churchgoer, and community helper. Some of her passions include reading, cooking/baking, listening to music, learning new languages, exercising by watching fitness videos, and traveling. She recently started to learn all about gardening and loves it (it has turned into a family activity for the weekends).
