I have always been a brunch lover. I could eat breakfast foods for every meal and be completely satisfied. Fortunately for me (and all of you!), Columbia boasts a number of fantastic breakfast/brunch restaurants! There’s Café Strudel, Eggs Up Grill, Le Peep Café, The Flying Biscuit Café. and so many more. But my new favorite brunch place is Another Broken Egg Café.
I recently went to Another Broken Egg Café for this first time, and absolutely loved it. I plan to go back again very soon!
This cozy little café I visited is snuggled into the back of the Staples plaza in Forest Acres, but there are additional locations if you’re not in the downtown area (see details below). The restaurant features a full bar with a variety of brunch cocktails, including multiple types of Bloody Marys, mimosas, mules, and spiked coffees (both iced and hot).
Just reading over their menu will have your mouth watering. They have a variety of benedicts, specialty pancakes, chicken and waffles, omlettes, grits, french toast, waffles, and sandwiches. But these are not the flavors you find at a normal brunch spot. There are items such as crab cake benedict, smoked salmon benedict, apple fritter french toast, cookie dough waffles, lobster and brie omelette, and even a benedict burger.
In addition to their regular faire, they also feature seasonal specials. Their current seasonal selections include a country fried steak benedict, honey lemon blueberry french toast, key west pancakes, and a mango barbacoa tostado stack. Mouthwateringly delicious!
For those who with dietary restrictions or preferences, Another Broken Egg Café offers gluten free and vegetarian options. They also have a fantastic kids menu as well. And don’t forget to check out their amazing side dishes like fresh seasonal fruit, fresh country potatoes, city grits, and biscuit beignets.
Another Broken Egg Café currently has two locations in the Midlands, with a third coming soon. Each location is open from Monday – Sunday, 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
