City Grit Thanksgiving Feast :: A Delicious Way to Do Thanksgiving!

0

I have tried many options when it comes to Thanksgiving. I have tried cooking the whole meal myself. I have tried it potluck style. I have tried various catering services as well as eating out. Never have I ever had a Thanksgiving meal where my family said, “We want to do this again next year,” until I ordered a Thanksgiving Feast from City Grit.

Last year, I had a newborn and a toddler at home. The last thing I wanted was to spend most of the holiday time in the kitchen prepping for a meal that our kids may not even eat. My husband and I decided to order the Thanksgiving Feast from City Grit and it was by far the best Thanksgiving meal we’ve ever had. Because we had a smaller gathering of people, we went with the half order, and we had plenty of food. There are half and full order options on their website.

We picked up the meal the day before, which came prepped and ready to be reheated. Directions were provided for reheat times which made the process unbelievably simple and stress-free. The feast started with delicious appetizers, with the main meal including all the delicious traditional fixings, and ended with a scrumptious pie of our choosing for dessert. Typically, I don’t really like turkey and go for all the sides, but their turkey was so tender and delicious. Seriously, there was nothing we didn’t devour!

The Thanksgiving feast was our first experience with City Grit but since we loved the food so much, we decided to return for a dinner date night. It did not disappoint. We had delectable dishes were prepared with an incredible attention to detail. We were eager to give the waiter and staff a big tip at the end of the amazing meal, but it was then that we learned about their “gratuity-free” philosophy. Their staff is provided livable wages, thus there is no tipping. This philosophy is evident in the positive atmosphere and vibe.

In addition to their fantastic food, City Grit also has a wine bar, and a collection of artisan goods primarily made by woman and people of color. The products and food are superb. They are invested in our community and in turn have won over our hearts and our stomachs. We can’t wait to have their delicious Thanksgiving Feast again!

I am so excited to have a stress-free holiday with delicious food. City Grit is something I am thankful for this year. If you are looking for an at-home Thanksgiving feast without all the hours of meal prep, City Grit is a fantastic option!
