Columbia Mom EATS :: Bodhi

0

A few weeks ago, I celebrated the 20th anniversary of my 21st birthday. I have some wonderful friends who asked me how I wanted to celebrate. My answer? “Go to a nice restaurant and not take my children.” One of my friends suggested Bodhi in downtown Lexington, and that was the perfect choice.

Bodhi is a Thai restaurant located on East Main Street, across from O’Hara’s Bakery Cafe.  The food is terrific, the ambiance is elegant, and children under 6 are not allowed during dinner time. It is the perfect place to go for date night or any other time you desire to be child-free.

We started the night with some appetizers. I ordered the Toong Tong – a fried wonton stuffed with chicken and veggies, served with sweet chili sauce and sriracha aioli. They were crispy and delightful.

My friend ordered the Braised Baby Pork Ribs, which were super tender.

After the appetizers, I ordered the Chilean sea bass, which was served with butternut squash puree, spinach, and a spicy sauce.

My friend ordered Chicken Ballotine. The chicken arrived in a cylinder shape with a very crispy outside. It looked as pretty as it tasted. It was served with two way potatoes and another spicy sauce.

As a mother of two very young children, I really appreciated having a quiet dinner without hearing someone else’s child cry. It was a wonderful escape from meals that come with plastic toys, restaurants that pass out crayons, and my own cooking. I look forward to going to Bodhi again in the future!

Bodhi is located at 126 East Main Street in Lexington. There is parking behind the restaurant or street parking in the area.

Hours:

Lunch – Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Dinner – Tuesday and Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Thursday through Saturday 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Have you been to Bodhi? What was your favorite dish?
