Columbia Mom EATS :: Butterkreme Queen

My husband and I have been longtime fans of Butterkreme Queen Bakery, and we were so excited when we learned that the Butterkreme Queen herself, Jackie Bradley, was opening a bakery nearby. After loyally following her from farmers market to farmers market, I couldn’t wait to visit her location in Irmo and get some of the tasty treats that people all over town have been in love with for the past few years.

When you walk into the bakery, you’re greeted by kind, smiling faces and a display case filled with delicious treats of all kinds. With a rotating menu that changes based off of availability (you can see their updated menu on their Instagram stories), you’ll see sugary sweets and savory treats, including salted chocolate chip cookies, mango passion cheesecake slices, bacon jalapeno cheddar biscuits, white chocolate blondies, fudgy brownies, and (my favorite!) red velvet cake slices.

The bakery’s ambiance is bright and airy with playful pink walls, modern-style seating, and large windows near the entrance. The staff is very welcoming and happy to help answer questions, and they were incredibly patient with my toddler and me as we decided which treats we wanted to purchase during our last visit.

My son immediately saw the cinnamon rolls and asked for one, while I got one of their Qtee Apple Pies (a miniature apple pie with an AMAZING crust) for myself and a sprinkle sugar cookie and chocolate chip walnut cookie for my husband.

While my son enjoyed a few bites of his cinnamon roll (I planned to save the rest for later, since nap time was around the corner), he did get a hold of his dad’s cookie and enjoyed it very much as well! At this time, Jackie came out to the front of the bakery and so kindly talked with both my son and me. It’s clear that this is an establishment that is not only proudly creating and producing deliciously wonderful baked goods, but it’s also a business that highly values warmth and quality customer service. Everyone there was so friendly, and customers can see how happy everyone is to be there.

After taking a look at their website, I did find that there are potential plans to provide catering services, but at this time, the staff is using this time to focus on the new bakery. Although catering is not available just yet, I know I’ll be on the lookout for their future menu, especially for future birthdays, holidays, and special occasions!

Butterkreme Queen Bakery is located at 7703 St. Andrews Rd, in Irmo.

Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday/ and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

You can also find them at the Lake Carolina Farmer’s Market (April – November)
