I find myself becoming more and more anxious as my children grow older. I don’t know why but I’m just having a hard time accepting the fact that they are growing up.
Since they’ve gotten older, I find myself searching for activities we can do together because they are always on their phones. I’m so used to doing things with them like going to EdVenture Children’s Museum and local parks, but now they say they don’t want to go.
So What Do I Do?
There’s not a lot of places I can take them to do things they would love. So, I do a lot of research to find different things we can do together.
Our most favorite thing to do is TikTok
We are very big on TikTok in our house! I find TikTok to be a lot of fun. Not only is it fun, but it is also very helpful. It teaches different ways to do math, which is something my kids often struggle with. It also teaches us different things to cook, life hacks, and a lot of other things. But our most favorite thing to do is dance. We are always showing each other new dances. It really makes my entire day doing fun dances with my children.
Another thing we love to do together is cook
I get to teach my kids all of my family recipes and learn some new ones with them as well. They are always excited when they cook something and it tastes the same as mine. I often post what they cook on my Facebook page, and they get compliments. And they look forward to their dad complimenting their food as well.
We’ve also taken up painting
When we paint, we use our imaginations and just go with the flow! Whatever is on our mind we paint and then we have discussions about it. I find this to be the best time to discuss with them things that are happening in the world and whatever is on their minds. I am a very hands-on mom, and I don’t ever want to lose that bonding time with my kids.
Finding things that interest my children helps me have time to bond with them. My children are the most important people in my life. Watching them grow has been the most beautiful yet emotional thing for me.
