As I reflect upon my day, I suddenly realize that almost half of 2023 has passed by already, and I cannot believe it.
Being summer break, most of us are driving our kids back and forth to camps, visiting splash pads, finding ways to beat the heat and keep our children entertained. Meanwhile, I realized that even though most of us are busy with our own schedule, we try to coordinate with friends, family, and neighbors to catch up and enjoy time together, and I suddenly felt a big amount of gratitude for this.
So, I paused during the day to make a list of things that I am grateful for, to remind me not to take anything for granted and to savor each and every moment (even when I am tired, even when I am frustrated, even when I have too many things to do).
This summer, I’m grateful…
For the friends with whom we can meet for a playdate.
For the family that we have near or close by.
For the friends that become our tribe.
For the neighbors with whom you can rely on, in case you have any emergency.
For my health, that I sometimes take for granted.
For the roof over my head and the food over my table.
For all the new things that I have learned this year.
For all the new people that I have met in the past six months.
For the weather this year that has been mild, compared to other years.
For my husband and my children that I have privilege of nurturing and sharing life with.
